i have a small block 400 and im having some vibration issues. somebody told me that it might have something to do with the flexplate. how do i tell if i have the right one in there?

thanks,

The flex plate will have metal counter-weights welded on if it is externally balanced. If you have a 400, it should have these tabs.

if the tabs arent there, can i get them welded on by a machine shop or should i just get a new one?

I'd get a new one. They're not hard to find...

The 400 has to have a "balanced" flywheel and harmonic balancer. They are different than the other small blocks(283,305,327,350).

Ditto to Cecil, buy one and be done with it! graemlins/thumbsup.gif
