I was removing the lock cylinder from the ignition switch by depressing the plunger through the small key while turning the lock cylinder with the key in it counter clockwise. As I was doing this the paper clip sheared off. I got the clip out but the lock cylinder seems stuck somewhere in the middle between fulled locked and removable. I can't turn it CC or CCW. Any ideas?

No, I got all the clip out, but the plunger must now be in a different location so it can't be compressed by sticking a new wire throught the hole. The cylinder lock turned CC probably about 1/4 turn before the clip sheared off.Now I can't move the darn thing.

Well, I freed it up some the key will now turn the lock cylinger CW to the Start position, automatically return CCW to the on position and turn CCW to the off position. It will not go CCW to the ACC position. Sticking a clip through the hole seems to have no effect. Any ideas appreciated. I really would like to keep this lock cylinder and ignition switch since it's keyed the same as doors and trunk. I'm baffled, I got it apart when I removed it from the dash bezel, put it back together to keep everything from getting lost and now 3 years later can't get it apart again.
I bet if you keep working with it (jiggling the key) you'll finally get it to go to the "ACC" position
good luck
