: mirrior again
bcice May 24th, 01, 8:36 AM I re read my last question and now i think I know why no one answered me. The question was, My 69 came equiped with the type of outside rear view mirror that came with the toggle type remote on the drivers door. A friend offered me one from a 69 nova. Does anyone know if they are the same? I think I understand why no one answered me. You thought, " What an idiot!! If he has one then he would know if they were the same or not!" Well this is not the case. The one on the car is not a remote. It has been replaced. I have this little chrome plate on the inside of the drivers door that the cable is supposed to run to. I want to put the remote back in, but not if it is not the correct style. Thanks. Terry
Daytona Jeff May 24th, 01, 8:57 AM Terry,
No thoughts like that here, actually I have been watching that post to see if it will work. Like you mine came with the car, but is without it now. I have heard or read somewhere that 70-72 chevelle mirrors were similiar to the 69 remote?
Anybody know about these mirrors?

bcice May 24th, 01, 9:47 AM Thanks Jeff. I did talk to someone at year one, and they said they were unavailable as a reproduction. However he did give me a number of a company in alabama called Stevens Performance. He told me they had acres of chevelles. I never did call them because if I can get a free one, why would I pay for one. Anyway, if you interested, the number he gave me was (256)247-1332 Terry
Joe Y May 24th, 01, 9:48 AM Terry,
I think I speak for most people when I say a lot of questions that go unanswered are because we don't know or are unsure about something and don't want to offer false advice. Remote mirrors are somewhat rare and I couldn't tell you what a set looked like.

bcice May 24th, 01, 10:07 AM Joe Y. I agree. I think it is pretty fair to assume that. But you always seem to run into someone in the know if you ask the right questions. You know whats going to happen if i put that one from the Nova on. I will no sooner get it screwed down and someone will come up behind me and say, 'HEY!!! That's not a Chevelle mirror! That mirrors off a 69 nova!
Daytona Jeff May 25th, 01, 6:11 AM Terry, Thanks for the number, I will check it out. If you can post a pic of the mirror off the Nova I might be able to tell you how close it is, I remember what mine looked like, but for some reason haven't found it in my garage since I took it off the car?? If you saw my garage you would understand. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
If anybody gives you any crap about it tell them you know... but you needed someway to see the front of their car!!

bcice May 25th, 01, 8:34 AM Thanks Jeff! You sure you don't mind if I use that line? I love it! I notice you don't even have one on your drivers door. Want my old one?
Daytona Jeff May 25th, 01, 8:52 AM Terry, I appreciate the offer but that is an older pic and the car has a standard mirror now....until I locate the correct one.
Yeah anytime you need smart a$$ remarks I'm your man. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

houndss Jun 25th, 01, 2:37 PM I have a remote mirror on my chevelle. If you post a pic of the one from the nova I will tell you if it looks like mine. Mine might not be original, as far as I know it might be off of a nova too! By the way, does anyone know about what it would cost to get a mirror rechromed?
