Nice job! As you can see from my string on Windshield Wiper Motors I am in a similar situation as you were. How did you get your plastic cover so nice?

Thanks, I was pretty pleased. especially that it works now. For the plastic, I actually polished it with a polishing compound (in retrospect, I should have used Mequire's Scratch-X), and then armour-all. I since replaced the mounting pads with some I got in the Help!(Motormite) section at an autoparts store so that the zinc coating was correct. For some reason that made a big difference to me.

Mockingbird, when I did a motor 10 years ago, I cleaned the black plastic with an SOS pad to clean and scuff it. I then followed with semi-gloss spray bomb. Worked very well.
