Hey everyone,
Just noticed today that my driver's side hood hinge is bowed inboard in a major way. Seems to open and close okay but it's a matter of time before it allows serious paint chippage. I want to do something about it, but was wondering if I should just buy new GM or have mine rebuilt--which ought to last longer? Are the GMs phosphated or am I gonna have to have that done in addition? Thanks!

You can still get hinges from GM part numbers 3976676,3976675. They will come painted black not phosphated. I bought a pair about 2 months ago cost me around 70 bucks a hinge. If you buy new ones buy both sides not just one. Ive seen ads in Hemmings(chevelle section)that offer hinge rebuilding I believe that it was around 150 bucks, but I might be wrong...Eric
