I too am getting real close to starting to replace one quarter(drivers side) on my 72.
I'll be replacing the outer wheelhouse and trunk drop off. my car will have a vinyl top re-installed when all is done. My plans were to go with the full quarter made by goodmark that Ground Up restorations has . I have been trying to decide if i should maybe use the quarter that they call the full 95% that has the sail panel area cut off.the weld seam would end up under the vinyl top.Has anyone purchased one of these units? is the quality the same as the goodmark piece ? also, does anyone know the approx.weight of a bare 72 2dr body shell? I plan on eventually putting the body up on a rotisserieto detail the floorpans. thanks in advance http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif

What does your current 1/4 panel look like now? I always replace as little sheet metal as possible.
A bare body stripped completely is about 1200 lbs. I think. No glass, no nothing.

Take a look at the trials and tribulations with what 70_chevelle had to do with his panels. Enjoy!!! Easier to get it done right the first time, than save money.

Jimmy, you are right "replace as little as possible" but you can only use that up to a point. You are much better off replacing the whle quarter than splicing through the middle. If you are replacing the wheel house, going all the way up makes more sense, don't you think?

thanks for all the feedback guys, I guess I'll spend the extra 100 bucks and get the full sail panel quarter from goodmark. You only get one shot to do it right, right? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/cool.gif
