I have the following 1970 SS396 tcs components.
Can anyone tell me if they are correct for a 71 Camaro BB?
Temp sensor AC-63B 232M
Override Relay 3961573
vacuum Control Solenoid DR 1114434.

I don't no part numbers but 70 and 71 have very different tcs systems, 70 solenoid is on intake 71 is also idle solenoid on carb.
70 has 1 relay on firewall gutter, 71 has 2 relays behind dist.

These solenoids control vacuum to the distributor vacuum advance unit based on signals from the transmission.

My records show the TCS you currently have 01114434 is for a '70 Camaro, 396-454 & 400 ci 4 bbl.

I "can't" find a TCS part number of a '71 396 for some reason. I only show a '71 V/8, 2bbl & 350 ci 4bbl which has the p/n of 01114432. No Big Block at all.

I have the same problem for my factory '71 Chevelle SS, LS-5 454, 4 speed. I can't "conclusively" find the correct p/n for the TCS solenoid! I've been looking, asking, and praying for about 10 years and nobody can find any good reference material.

Can anybody help us out by possibly dusting off some of those Chevelle and Camaro reference manuals & help out a few Big Block guys by find us some GM Part Numbers on the TCS solenoid???? Help........ graemlins/clonk.gif

Two sellers on E-BAY say the 4434 is correct for 1970 BB not 71. Hope this helps . if you want to sell the 70 tcs stuff E-Mail me. Nick
