Help please...on the '69 Chevelle when antenna came from the factory on front fender it was placed about 8" from back edge of top bead and 3 1/2" from inside edge of fender and the intersecting point was the location of center of the antenna. Question is: Which direction is the underside piece that secures antenna in place lay; is it parallel with fender or cross wise? Direction determines where to cut out notches for the tabs on the bezel to fit down into the piece on the underside. Anyone know how it came from the factory? If you flip the fender over, you will see a round metal lip which helps you locate the antenna. It's that simple.

You should be able to locate the spot if you take the inner fender out, if that's workable for you.
