The part on the console where the bracket attaches is broken off from the person that had it before me. Can anyone suggest how I should attach it to the floor?
I was thinking about hinge brackets or something......

Do you have the brackets and the console is broke or do you need brackets?

Mine were broken also but I used epoxy glue to repair them. If you still have the pieces you could try it.

You could form a new piece from aluminum to simulate your broken piece an attach it with screws very carefully (plastic is brittle when it's old) to the console. It doesn't have to be pretty cause you won't see it, if it the part of the console that I am thinking of. You could always buy a used or repro console shell if you can't fix yours.

In the console where the back opens for storage, mine had busted screw holes. I scuffed the backside of the area under the pocket with medium sandpaper, cleaned it with Eastwoods Paint Prep and them put one layer of fiberglass and resin to make up the missing plastic. Then I sprayed the inside with Landau Black Vinyl dye.
Worked great!
