This really isn't a chevelle specific question but still related. I am cleaning up the tail light lenses off my 69 Charger. There is overspray all over a portion of them. I need something to clean it off with. Any recommendations??

Hey, glad to see someone else has a 69 Charger on here as well as a Chevelle or el camino. You might want to try a clay bar with mequiars quick detailer. If that doesnt work, possibly try the kit from eastwood for polishing plastic lenses. Or if you are feeling brave, I had used to use white polishing compound by No.7 made by DuPont. Use that lightly and then wipe off with a clean towel. All I know is before I got the Eastwood kit, that was the trick to get the oxidation off of the lenses. Also worked beautifully on my light bar for my fire dept trucks.

Was the car sprayed with the tail lights still in? Try one of the clay bars.

Some bonehead srpayed it in primer and never covered the tail lights. I have been using nail polish remover and it seems to be doing the job nicely.

Careful with the nail polish remover. Because it is plastic, it might melt the lens.

Tom,
Soak them in Simple Green - it will take a few days but it won't hurt the plastic. We just did the same with Camaro lenses - paint came off without hurting the lenses.
Hope this helps.

Digging up an old topic...
I need to remove some overspray and buff off the haze that is on my tail lights.
Short of buying something mail order, is there something at AutoZone that would work?
I am having trouble with other drivers not seeing my blinkers on bright sunny days.
