What is the correct master cylinder for a 70 SS with power disc brakes? I've seen pictures showing 2 different types from vehicle owners who claim theirs are original. Was there more than one design for this particular model? Should the master cylinder have 1 or 2 retainer wires? The covers for each of these versions also looked different with retainer wire running one direction with one version and different directions with the 2 wire version. Anyone with a picture of the correct version on their website? Just received an aftermarket one from Year One and it looks quite different than the one I have which I thought to be correct (but needing an exterior dress-up). Thanks.

There are many designs, aftermarket and Repro.,but none as good as the Original design.
The proper Master Cylinder casting# for all 1970 front disk brake cars is #5470409.Look on the frt. bore area for a machined surface showing a suffix code of BB,and a julian date code.
You can see this correct Master Cylinder in my engine shot in my signature link.
