The back side of the wheels are gray. Not argent silver like the front side. Also, the insert area is not black, rather a dark charcoal metallic. Most of the parts suppliers have the correct colors available.

Krylon dull aluminum works good for the spoked area and rebuilders cast grey works great on the insert area.

Rebuilders cast grey is not correct for the inserts, its too light. As soon as people discovered the inserts were dark gray (REALLY dark gray) all the sudden everyone went from painting them incorrect black to incorrect gray. The correct gray is so dark that unless you are right on top of them, they look black. If you stand back 15 feet and they still look gray, theyre too light. Think of black paint with a little grey mixed in just to take it a little less than true black. Thats how they SHOULD be.

ORIG LS6 is correct, the backsides were grey, semigloss, with no metallic. very similar if not the same paint used for jack bases.

The correct colors are available in rattle cans from most of the major suppliers. The color for the back and inside of the wheels is a dove gray. I don't think Eastwood handles that color but our sponsor, "Ground-Up" does under P/N HDP 1219. (Others have it too) It will probably take at least two cans to do all four (or five) wheels. If you're not all that interested in accuracy, Krylon has two shades of gray that are somewhat close. One is too light, the other too dark. I would probably choose the lighter of the two.
Personal opinion....pop for the correct colors! Afterall, it's a Chevelle! Plus, if you do it right the first time, we all can't shame you into doing it over.
