I am trying to find out what is the correct outside mirror for my 70.I've heard that it should have the bullet shaped end oposite the pivit area.I have a original that has the #3965923 followed by a bowtie emblem stamped in the bottom.(cant be seen when installed).On the glass at the top it has
5-DMI-5 on it.Does anybody have an unrestored original with this same miror?

I have a few of these NOS.The one in my hand now says the same as yours Ray.It fits your description to a tee.The are 1970 bullet,not 1969 concave design.
Are you sure thats a D and not a 0?
Your 5-DMI-0 Code breaks down as:
5=Month,May
DMI=Manufacturer
0=Last digit of year,1970.
Mine is:9-DMI-9 for Sept,1969.
It is authentic to my car with an October build date..
