We removed the inner fenders from my 70 Chevelle today and the rubber seal that is
stapled to the lower part of the inner that
rests on the firewall need to be replaced.
We called Auslies, Year one etc and no one carries them.We then went to a home depot
and then to a auto parts store and didn"t find anything close.Any suggestions?

Rick, I had the same dilemma with my '69.
I finally found a rubber strip that looks like two vacuum hoses attatched side by side.
I think I picked it up at the Carlisle swap meet from a vendor who sold all kinds of weatherstrip for older cars. It may be some sort of cushioning for the hoods of cars from the thirties. Sorry, I'm not remembering this too well. Check an old car publication like Hemmings. Old Cars etc. There is a company named Steele that sells all kinds of rubber parts. Anyway, I attatched the strip to the inner fender using pop rivets, but you could use the staples that Ground up and others sell.
