I have a 79' El Camino. I have never restored a cart. Anyway my weather stripping is looking weathered. Do I have to buy the reproduction part from the El Camino store or can I be cheap and get some weather stripping from the auto parts store and cut to fit?
Thanks

Love the screenname! If i were you, and reproduction is available, id get it... i dont think you can get anything at autozone thats gonna work for you... you might even check a GM dealer, it may still be available... oh, and we can't forget ebay...

Agree with Joey here. The "one size fits all" stuff will come back to haunt you. Spend the money and get the right stuff.

Hang around here and ask questions, and before long, you'll have to drop the first part of your screen name http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Try the dealer, they may be able to still get the weatherstripping for you. If not get the repo stuff.
