: Valve cover gasket problem

I put a new set of LT-1 type of valve covers
on a 350 chevy, and I am having oil leaking around the gasket area. The seal surface on the heads are fine. The gaskets seems to be
alittle small for the valve covers. Does anyone know of a better gasket that fits?
I have been using fel-pro gaskets for yesrs with no problems. And what is a good sealer to use.

Be sure your valve cover bolts are not bottoming out, if so, they will appear to be tight, but will not seal.

What I do is get the orange high temp silicon and silicon the rubber gaskets to the valve cover. Then I set the covers on the heads and just snug them down, do not tighten, then I let them cure for a day. Then I go back and tighten them down, this way you can remove the covers if you have to. It also helps to get the long hold down clamps
