have a 7 qt pan on now and I cannot pull or install the motor with the tranny bolted up because the pan binds on the crossmember.
Does anyone know of a brand/part number for a pan that will allow me to do this?

I posted this in Engine and Trans, but didn't get a lot of replys. I would like to get a pan on order soon, or modify the one I have.

Dave,
FOR A BB, I know of no other PRACTICAL pan to use besides the stock style pan. Otherwise, you have to continue pulling the engine without the tranny as you have been doing. Sorry. BBs are just a tight fit, no matter what.

I can live with that. Was just hoping for
a better way.

Thanks Tom.

i am assuming you mean the crossmember under the engin not the transmision crossmember, cause that comes off.

I mean the cross member under the engine, yes.

thats what i thought. you could undo the oil pan while the engin and trans are as high as you can get it. with the pan off maybe you can get it all the way out? which is worse taking the pan off mid air or disconnecting the trany while still in the car? just a thought.
