My 70 chevelle has a wind up clock in the dash. It's not a super sport dash. I think it is factory because it fits perfectly inside of the housing next to the speedo meter. There is a pin that goes through the plastic lens and you spin it to wind the clock. I would like to take the clock out of the frame that surounds it and install a temperature guage in the hole. The clock and a standard gauge seem to be the same size. How do I get the clock out of the frame. I took the snap ring out that would hold the lens in but the gauge did not budge. I tried to pry it out no luck any ideas. Have anyone seen this clock before?

Take the top dash pad off. Held down by 6 screws. Two are inside the glove box. Should be able to access the clock mounting screws. The Haynes Chevelle book shows dash pad removal instructions. Available at Pep Boys.
