YenkoChevelle69 Jan 4th, 03, 3:06 PM Sounds like a nice survivor car to me. Can we see some pics? I'd say leave it.

Lets see some pics http://www.chevelles.com/forum/cool.gif I vote for cleaning it up and only doing things to fit your taste that are not irreversible. If possible keep the original stuff you take off. You could probably swap the manual steering for power and other things like that without hurting the car's value. Is Viking blue a light ot dark color? Sometimes I wish Old Blue was a bench seat car. Most of all enjoy the car!
Please do post some pics so we can admire your car properly. Good Luck

Randy Mosier Jan 4th, 03, 5:08 PM It would depend on how much attention is needed. If there is a lot of surface rust on the inner fenders, and there's a buildup of gunk and grime on the crossmenber, or if the battery tray needs replacement, then you may want to consider pulling the engine and tranny and giving everything a good cleaning followed by repainting.
If it's as clean under the hood as it is on the outside, then I'd leave it alone.
Shawn Jan 4th, 03, 7:40 PM I say clean it up and leave it original. It made it this many years stock, don't mess with it now. I get tired of seeing all the personalized cars, seeing some stock ones even with factory hubcaps would be refreshing for a change. It's your car though do what you want.

Couldn't resist, see my signature link with the original OF covers. I run Cragars during the summer.
The 72 sounds like a real nice survivor. I was going to modify my 64 until I figured out that there weren't that many in original form. Plan is to keep it as original as possible and get something else to build up.
