All this recent talk about deep sounding exhaust and turn downs got me all excited and try for my self so i decided that (hopfuly this weekend) i will turn my full dual exhaust into turndowns ( keepign the rest of hte pipe just incase the sound isnt what i expect)im hoping for hte best i love loud thumping exhuast and hope it sounds nice. But you can only expect so much from a stock 307 . The mufflers im running right now i have noidea what they are there pretty free flowing since my little 2in exhuast is pretty noisey as it is. o and headers are coming soon i hope befor the spring..

I have a mild 350 in my 72 chevelle and I have hooker competition headers, 2 1/2 pipe and 40 series 2 chamber flowmasters with turn downs and when I added the turn downs it made the exhaust twice as loud as it was with the exhaust exiting under the bumper and it is noticeably deeper. But with any changes there are usually some negative results too some of which are the inside of your chevelle will be louder with the turn downs, when you drive through dusty areas the turn downs do kick up alot of dust this sucks especially after you have just cleaned and detailed your chevelle, and another thing I have noticed is the smell of your exhaust fumes are alot more noticeable. Other than that I say try it since you are saving your tail pipes you can always change it back if you don't like it, let us know how it works out.
