I have literally hundreds of resto pics on floppy discs that I got from the guy who sold me my car. I'd like to get prints made for a set of albums that I can keep with the car. I've gone to several places locally (Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc.) and no one has the the hardware to print from floppy's, except these do-it-yourself machines that cost a fortune and always have people in line. If I walked up with all my discs, I'd be tarred and feathered as well as broke!!

Does anyone know of a cost effective mail service that prints digital photos from floppy discs? I'm no techno wizard, but should I convert them to CD's first?

Should I be concerned about x-rays of the package damaging the discs, if I mail them?

Any help would be most appreciated! I've been looking for months now and am concerned the floppy's will get damaged somehow and I'll lose the pic's!

Thanks again.

I would definitely get them converted to CD as soon as possible as floppy disks are very fragile and if they get anywhere near a magnet they are DONE. CDs are a much more reliable form of archiving any type of files and will be much more convenient for you (and everyone else).

Don't mail the floppy disks! Find a local "computer guy" that will copy the files to CD...

Go to a real photography business. Here in Lincoln I go to the Photo Shoppe and they make prints from my .jpg images for a very reasonable price. I would think that any decent photography shop should be able to help you out.

Thanks Craig/Mat. My son volunteered to convert them to CD for me and I'll check out the photo shops in the area. Hopefully they're still in good shape.

Thanks again!

Put all of the computers onto your hard drive and upload them to walmarts webpage. you can pic the walmart closest to you and the print em out and send em to the walmart you picked. my sis just did this and they came out great. good luck

Thanks! That's a great idea!! I had no idea you could do that, but I'll have my son research how to do it. Certainly simplifies it alot!!!!

I'm also going to have him create the CD's, too. Just in case my hard drive melts down someday!

Thanks again!
