With the little bit of Christmas cash and a nice refund check from signing my new mortgage I now have enough in savings to buy air conditioning for my '69 Chevy pickup. I use it to tow the Chevelle and it really sucks to drive all day in the middle of summer with just 260 or 270 air conditioning.
I've looked at Vintage Air set ups and a local dealer can get me everything I need for a decent price, about $1300 (all a/c parts, dash outlet vents, pulleys and brackets) for a kit designed for my particular vehicle.
BUT, are there any other brands out there that are well made, install properly and are complete for the same or less money? Due to cost of installation I'll be doing the work myself. I REALLY don't want to chase down part after part so I want a kit that includes everything I need in one set up.
Additionally, has anyone done such an install in a 67-72 Chevy PU? Any particular problems I should be aware of?
TIA.
