Hello Fellas Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me or better yet show me what locking tab engine mounts look like.
Also what ARP part number is it for the flywheel to convertor bolts.
Thanks,

Kris

Kris,
Go for the locking tab type mounts. Cheap insurance in the long run. The lo-buck mounts without the the locking tab are discount house variety and intended for Grandma's low-horse. The locking tab style have metal "T" structures at each end that will lockup the 2 metal halves of the mount against one another in the even of failure of the rubber. This limits the possible travel. This could save your fan shroud, hood, distributor, etc. In an extreme situation years ago I know of a fellow that broke both engine mounts symultanelously on a '70 396 and when the engine lifted up it pushed the transmission housing against the floor pan and broke it (the transmission)! Go for the good mounts! Merry Christmas.

Thanks zookpr,

I bought some already and they are the same as my old stock ones that I found in the trunk these have a part #m2283. It only has the T structure at one end . I guess I can assume that these aren't the locking style.
I think I will just go for the Energy suspension ones. I wonder if there is any way I can exchange my Moroso solids for the right ones I don't have a bill maybe I will call them tommorow.

Kris,
Maybe the "T" is only on one end. Haven't looked at one lately. Though memory says both ends.

on mine, the "T" is only on one end... It just limits the engine movement incase the rubber separates... Shouldn't need a T at both ends... In fact, it might not fit if there was a T at both sides...

I have the energy ones. You can check 'em out at the energy suspension website. Pretty trick looking and as said above GREAT insurance for peace of mind.

Thanks everyone

Thanks SoCalRat,
I have a TH-400 with a 3000 stall (approx 10inch) and the bolt openings on the 3 tab stall are 3/8. I wonder if I could just use the 3/8 ARP. I was just using 14 thread (1 inch long), fine thread 3/8 Gr 8 with star washers and fine thread nuts. Since this is the second time I pulled the engine I might invest some more money into new top notch stuff, just so I don't go pulling it again to change stuff.
The Energy mounts retail here for about $50. I will just order them tommorow.
I now have 4 sets of mounts! 1 set of I assume stockers I found in the trunk,1 set from the 468,1 set from Car Quest, and a set of Moroso solids for a 2 5/8 mount. I have a 2 3/8 mount. I hate wasting things but another $50. for the Energy is worth it. Anyone need any mounts?
