: free 12 bolt
Philip Dec 19th, 99, 4:01 PM The parts girl at our local Carquest just had a 12 bolt out of a 68 Velle given to her and she doesn't own a Chevelle. She wants to put it into an 69 Olds Cutlass with a 455, but I'm trying to talk her out of it. I have an 8.5" 10 bolt Olds with an Auburn posi, wouldn't you trade if you were her? BTW she does all her own work, including welding and is an excellent parts person, but I still want her rear end (the 12 bolt).

SoCalRat Dec 19th, 99, 7:29 PM Some will take a couple bucks, but they only give you certain pieces http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
Good luck Philip.
mike reeh Dec 19th, 99, 11:21 PM just wondering, why do you want to trade her a nice posi rear end that you know works well for a 12 bolt open in unknown condition?

Philip Dec 20th, 99, 12:41 AM The 10 bolt I have is from a 71 Olds Cutlass and needs new axles. I really didn't want to spend another $300 on it. Since it needs new axles I had considered having it narrowed about 3" to fit under my 64 better and give me room for a deeper look on the wheel. This is still an option.
