are you sure the case # isnt 3831704 because case # 3831704 & 3851325 came with 7/8" counter gear shafts that 1707 number i cant find and the 1704 is listed as a 1963 m20 or m21

The first year for an M22 as a regular option was 66, BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT, there was a run of about 20 for the 65 Corvette (with the 396 engine). It is EXTREMELY unlikely that you or anyone else here will ever see a 66 M22, much less a 65 M22!

If you are paying for a M22 make sure it is a M22. Everone selling says they have a M22 or a M21 but GM made a lot of M20s VS. M21s & M22s.

Are you sure the guy doesn't think because there are no rings on the input that it's a M22? The early M-20 had no rings like the later M-22.

Production M22 came with a 1" pin(1965) some prototypes had a 7/8". If you do find a 7/8 M22 that would be a rare trans. smile.gif

Just how rare is the 66 M-22? A friend just picked up a 66 Biscayne L-72 car that he claims has an M-22. I am going to look at it.

I looked it's an M-22 but a late one with the 61 case. I knew it couldn't be for real.
