Help guys,about a month ago I blew my TH350 trans up at the dragstrip. (Sprag gear gone)Had tranny rebuilt with 34element sprag gear transgo shift kit B&M 28-3200 stall, heavy duty clutches.

Problem: The transmission seem too tight as if it doesn't want to pull past 3000 rpm in first gear. Once it shifts into second it pulls fine.
The first to second shift is crisp but it just seems like it is putting strane on the motor and doesn't want ot pull past 3000 rpm in first.

What could be the problem?

Maybe an intermediate clutch clearance issue? They come on in 2nd and stay applied in 3rd as well. First gear is the forward clutch, 2nd is forward and intermediate, third is forward-intermediate-direct.

Could this happen if an extra pressure plate was added. The mechanic who rebuilt it said he added a extra pressure plate to reduce slippage.
