I have a 400sb in a 66 chevelle. I have hooker super competition 1 3\4 headers. My flay wheel pushes my powermaster hitichi style mini starter into the headers. Are there mini starters made for this problem.

Yes, CVR makes one that has up to 18 adjustments and CSI makes one with 12 diffrent positions. I have the same problem, my starter touches my headers but so far I haven't had any starter problems. But I also have a remote solenoid.

I had the same problem with my '66 with a 400. I had a CSI starter with the mutiple positions, but none of them were the right one. I held it up there and marked the alum. boss, then pulled it out and tapped a new set of holes that were just right. Works great and I can pull it out without loosening the header at all. ( I had the same headers,too)
