This is on drivers side of car, I cannot figure out whats missing. Its from the tranny linkage to the carb linkage but whatever goes in between is gone. Its a 68 w/2 bbl and a powerglide. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b3dd29b3127cce9575e06686950000001610

Kickdown linkage? PG uses a rod from the carb to tranny for down shifting. I think there is also some related hardware bolted to the frame that should probably be in your picture but isn't. Not too sure as the only experiance I have with it is pulling all that stuff out to put in a 5 speed.

Agent_X - There was a rod attached to that thing that moved a pivot on the frame, and eventually turned your steering column housing 30 degrees to engage the wheel lock.

1968 doesn't have a wheel lock. Ignition is in the dash. This was for the kick down linkage on the Power Glide.

My 69 SS has that on the frame also. I'm wondering what it is for too. I think it may be some sort of linkage bracket for cars with manual tranmission? Do they all have this so at the factory a manual or auto can be installed by whatever was ordered by the dealer?
