Has anyone bought one of these things yet?
Did it hold up to the 900+ HP that they state or is this thing just an extinct dinosaur? I believe they are sold by high performance Transmissions out of Louisiana.

Others may have better info on this, but I was told by GM that the 4L80E was called the "80" because it could handle 800ft/lb and the 4L60E was the "60" because it could handle 600.
If this is the case, (and we put a twin turbo 454 through a stock one in a vehicle, strangely called "Zilla," that weighed over 7000lbs.) then a built one should do fine.
The 454 didn't make QUITE 900HP, but it was a monster nonetheless.

Has anyone bought one of these trany's, or do you know of anyone who has? Do you think $2,700 is to much to pay for one?

Just putting it in a 69 chevelle, with a L-72 427, 4.56 posi I need the over drive so I can cruise, the advertisement for the quadzilla says it just gets comfortable at 900HP so I figured it should be perfect at 600HP http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I agree that 2700 is way too much to pay. Just to give you another option, go to www.700r4.com (http://www.700r4.com) This company seems to have done their research. They even offer complete kits for swapping/converting from one trans to another. Good luck!

4.56's? You ever run this car at the track? Is this a stock L72? Just curious...
