I would like to replace my muncie shifter with a hurst competition plus and would like to retain my key lockout that goes to the steering column.Has any one come up with a solution or do I have just leave it disconnected.Thanks for all the great info guys!!!!!

depending on what shifter arms come with the hurst you should be able to do it, or modify the hurst pieces to work. Get a look at the factory setup and compare to the hurst. Shouldnt be a big deal, 70 nova SS that I owned had an aftermarket hurst in it and the backdrive linkage was installed and functional.
