Just verifying..I always thought the 72 SS with the 350 2bbl engine came with a 10 bolt rear..just bought a 72SS 350 2bbl car that has the 10 bolt, correct code GNC for 72 3:08 open rear, but the trunk lid seems to have an original positraction warning sticker..did the 2bbl cars have the 10 bolt? Did my rear get swapped or my trunk lid? Also the posi sticker and jacking instructions have a 1971 date on them, is that because the same stickers were used for 71-2 and there was no need for 1972 stickers?

Not trying to add more confusion but this one has me curious too. I also have a 72 Chevelle SS that was an original 350 2bbl car and it came with a 12 bolt non posi rear with 2.73 gears. I have heard a few different theories on this. One, all SS Chevelles came with 12 bolt rears. Two, all big block Chevelles came with a 12 bolt rears. I don't know the truth to which one is legit but the 12 bolt in my Chevelle is the original, as for the possibillity of the rear being swapped or your 72 having a different trunk lid installed those are both possibilltys.
