Hello, I needed a trans leak fixed on my M-22 from 1970's :rolleyes: . My trans Dr. changed the case, with my permission, because he did not want to machine the shaft hole or glob sylicone where it was leaking. He said it was a press fit. The new case has different #'s embossed on it. He told me to hang the old case on the wall in the event I ever wanted to sell the trans. Is this case actually worth keeping for a numbers kind of person?

If you ever do decide to sell that trans, hang onto the original case. It should have the cars VIN stamped into it and should be kept with the car.

If your talking about a leak at the cluster gear shaft holes then the guy could have installed bushings. He did on a M22 I rebuilt for a friend.
