OK--here's a new question---off all the people going---who is bringing their cars??? Who's driving and who's towing??? I havent made my mind up yet which to do--If I tow I can take my truck--- if I go "downtown" and not worry about someone opening a door into it. On the other hand what could be cooler than a buch of chevelles running down the interstate---decisions--decisions

I'm a towing mine, too far for me with no A/C...yeah I'm a wuss and proud of it. :D

I'm driving mine... no radio, no A/C, black interior and 13mpg, possibly driving alone... Might be a long 838.38 miles  I'll either be pulling an all-nighter driving down, or taking the whole week off to cruise down with the Hot Rod Power Tour.

Jan 12th, 05, 7:08 PM
I'm trailering...two reasons...

First, just in case I tear something up drag racing on Thursday night.
Second, at 4 mpg on premimum gas, driving the Chevelle 225 miles would really get pricey.
Not that the 11 mpg Dodge is too much better. :(

I'll tow my Chevelle for the simple fact that after about 2 hours of driving with a 502 & Flowmaster 40-series mufflers, I'd be ready to commit suicide! It's hardly a "trailer queen", I just feel like that much wear & tear isn't necessary since I've got the truck and trailer to avoid it.

Man, is CB05 really another 5 months away? Crap!

Jan 12th, 05, 11:57 PM
Well I am going to trailer the 67 Elky and lead the way for BobFMTyler since he would have trouble finding Goodlettsville in the daylight :D

And Sweetshot, both Cookies and Brownies would be fine, neither one is not on my South Beach Diet but what fun is that all the time graemlins/beers.gif

See y'all there graemlins/hurray.gif

Towing mine though that is the only time of the year it gets towed. Drove it there 3 years. 3.73's and 14" tires ain't no picnic on I 65.

Iam also trailering my 67 up.It just works out better, and keeps the miles off of it. If I go out of state its always trailered.Yes I get ragged from my friends, but it works for me.

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to take the car.. If I do, it will be on the trailer... The first thing that I have to do is get off my a** and join ACES though..

Us New Jersey guys are working on a plan to bring all 6 of our Chevelle's down in one tractor/trailer, rather than each of us pulling a single car trailer. One of the guys drives for a large show car carrier and it looks like we might be able to pull this off.

Keith, you've got more guts than most here, I don't think I know anyone else who would drive a 14k mile L78 camino across the country graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I'm still undecided whether I'll "Power Tour" down or drive out later in the week.

I'll be towing my Chevelle to TN, but I will be driving the Chevelle to CB05. The reason it's being towed to TN...I'm being stationed in 29 Palms CA. :( graemlins/angry.gif I have a friend in Brentwood and I plan on stopping by to see him and his family; and see my TC friends while i'm at it. smile.gif
I won't be able to attend any other CB until my tour is over in California. I'll be leaving for Iraq in August, for a 7 month tour. Then returning "home" for 7 months, then a 7 month tour in Afghanistan. I'm already making plans to move back to the East Coast and I haven't even left yet.

Jan 25th, 05, 9:06 AM
Well, I missed last year, so this will be my first. I'm gonna be there with the wife somehow, someway. Better book the room tho' today!

Hmmm... All the way to Nashville? That's 2 & 1/2 WHOLE HOURS driving! Right now I got no A/C but if it's not raining I can get out the sun block (note to self: do NOT forget hat) and put the top down. If we leave at 6AM it's a moot point, and we'll get there for breakfast.

It's hard to think about that TN heat and humidity when I spent Sunday night in a parking lot changing the fuel pump in 19-degree breezes.

If any other East TN or NC or other Easterners planning on going Knoxville to Nashville want to meet up for a mini-parade down I40, let me know.

Hey Clint,
Are you coming up through OKC?
If so when? We're going to have people stopping at our house from Calif. Plan to leave the OKC area Tue am and proceed to the east side of Little Rock, where a group from Tex will join with us. Then on to CB05 Wed am. You interested in joining us out of OKC on Tue? We would sure love to have you join us.

DZAUTO
Mar 8th, 05, 7:34 PM
Clint,
As of now, there is a fair amount of agreement for everyone to make the final rendezvous (east bound caravan on I-40, that is) and leave the McDonalds in Lonoke Ark (just east of Little Rock) about 10-10:30am Wed and proceed to CB05.
We will probably spend the night at the Super 8 Tue nite next door to the McDs.

Mar 9th, 05, 6:49 PM
At the moment,my Elky doesn't have a/c. My disabled spouse can't handle heat very well so the plan right now is to leave real early Wednesday morning and drive straight through,Tom. Maybe we can plan to rendezvous with you at Lonoke.

I'm looking at various custom a/c set-ups now so hopefully, the car can have it by June.

If you are Going to CB05 or not please check in and post emergency contact info, help out a possible TC'er in need.

Many think this isn't that important but take it from me, it really stinks to be stranded in your Chevelle on the side of a highway 800 miles from home.

Post Contact Info Here:

Rach,
Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner, I've been really busy. I didn't register in time and can't bring the Chevelle to the 'bration after all. I didn't want to register and take up someones spot that could actually make it, until I found out if I could get leave. Mrs. Hanson called me and told me that registration was over, and that I didn't have to worry about taking someones "spot" there are no set limits on cars, it's just I registered to late...oh well maybe i'll take the Yellow beast next year...GOD WILLING.

Hope your knees feel better, my ankle is still a little sore, stiff and swollen, but I'm going to limp my way around CB 05 though. Take care
