Just putting my 69 SS together and hooked up the trans cable with the correct brackets on the tranny and the shift pattern is backwards? Tried flipping the tranny bracket but no go!! I bought this car 85% done and the tranny is not original and the PO had it rebuilt a 8 years ago,is it possible it has a reverse manual valve body or I need a different bracket on the tranny? Help Please!!! I wanna drive this car. Mike

In what way is it backwords? I think a reverse valve body only reverses drive, 2, and, 1.

When I put the correct brackets on, park is low on the shifter(console shift) and low is park.If I rotate the bracket on the tranny 180 degrees the shifter cable is at the end of its throw and wont shift? I'm thinkin I need another tranny bracket that will move park closer to the shifter?
