is the lid supposed to have a lock cylinder?
my parts book seems to state that 69 & 70 models had a lid with no lock in it, yet i think every picture i've seen shows the lock on the left side. it indicates that the lock first appeared on 71 models.

what year was the lock first used?

i am trying to determine if my lid is incorrect for a 70 since it does not have the cylinder in it.

I believe the 68-69 consoles did not have the lock, and the 70-72s did..
