The "O" axle uses a Traction Lock differential. They are still available new in 2 and 3 series. The parts are also still available for them. Changing the oil will probably not help. The oil additive will only make the clutches slip more. You might not have a problem anyway. It is very common for cars with limited slip differentials (posi) to spin one wheel in water. If you go to the drag strip and watch the Mustang GTs do their burnouts you will probably notice several of them spinning one wheel. This is because there is not enough traction to apply pressure to the clutch packs. Another thing to consider is that you might have a standard differential and not a posi. Have you removed the cover to see exactly what is in it? That is the only way to be sure.
