I have stock linkage for my 1967 SS Chevelle. I love the way a Hurts Compition Plus Linkage feels and shifts. My question is: My stock linkage is sloppy, Do they sell Bushings for the end of the rods or does anyone know how to tighten up my Sloppy Linkage? I love the way the stock Linkage looks and want to keep it, But want it to shift like Hurst Comp Plus. Am I asking for too much? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif)

I have the Hurst linkage in my 67. I made a t bracket so I could mount the orginal shifter arm and ball to the hurst linkage. Somewhere on he net is a site that shows how this is done. I will search a little and see if I can find it

Pete, I had my factory '67 muncie console shifter and linkage restored/reconditioned a while back and it shifts almost as good as the hurst I used in the '67 through most of the '80s.
The reconditioned muncie shifter never misses a shift with or with out using the clutch.
The hurst is a better shifter though but I prefer to use as much of the general's 67 parts as possible.
Give chevy ray a call he specializes in factory shifters 405 2624432

There is no bushings in'65-'67 factory linkage, you have to replace the levers[if wore out] that mount to the trans and the linkage mounts to the levers.
The 1-2 clevis gets woreout too.
New spring clips could help as would replacing the spring washer.
The factory gate has no bushings either.
SoCalRat are those bushings for factory linkage?
