Had a 400 built 8 years ago and it is finally time to blow the dust off and install it in the chevelle!
Should I be concerned that it has sat for this long? It was in a sealed dry ,warm storage place! Thanks!

The only concern I'd have is that any fluid used during assembly is long dripped down into the pan. Everything is gonna be dry.
Anyone know of a way to "pre-lube" a tranny?

How about pumping some fluid through the lines to prelube?

Mine sat outside for 9yrs in a car. topped off the atf, ran it to work, changed fluid and filter and it still works like new. If yours is dry, converter also, start with 6qts atf and do a normal fill like after a service.

This one has never been installed!
I was thinking that the seals may go hard?

No problem as long as they used modern, quality seals. Now moisture getting into bearings, etc...

Transfixleo-if you were going to pull the pan(I want to use a neoprene gasket and a B+M pan) where would the best place to look for a moisture contamination problem be found?
Thanks!
