I've been told that the early 700r4 transmissions are not even good to rebuild, or that they cost an arm and a leg to rebuild, or there's some sort of problem with rebuilding them.

I've picked up a 700r4 trans and now a friend wants to buy it, but I don't want to sell it if it's a good one.

How can I tell the year of this transmission and which ones are good and which ones are bad ?

The numbers on the side of the case are 0KCM325H

Check this site out www.bowtieoverdrives.com (http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com). I bought a TV-easy kit for my 700R4.

The 0 at the start of the number is supposed to mean it's a 90 tranny which is a good unit. Check out this site for more info;
