Last week I found out I had to replace my inner speedo cable seal(thanks charbilly). Now a leak has started where the shifter linkage bracket bolts to the trans.(it never leaked before). Could having the rear of the car elevated for a couple of days cause a temporary leak, or is there a seal on the inside of this that needs to be(or can be) replaced? Thanks,Dennis

Seal goes in from the outside, you need to remove the lever to do it for best results, so the shaft can be inspected, but the pan has to come off. Or, look for the tool to do it with the arm off the shaft, it pulls on the seal, then tap the new one on over the shaft.
