I made a purchase without you guys! I got a nice aluminum Griffin Radiator PN# 1-25242-X It's a Chevy Race Series, Its 19 x 27.5 Its far shorter than the one I had before. The stock style upper radiator support panel will have to be modified or removed? Or I will probably return this rad. for a different size, more length. The Any ideas or help would be great... The radiator core support itself, the opening is 28" on a 70' front end which is what I have, so it would have a hair of space open on each end, might look funny?

This will be cooling a 350 currently and also a 454 in the near future. Hope someone chimes in by morning, I need to return it tomorrow graemlins/beers.gif

Have you considered calling Griffin Radiator and telling them the opening you have and what your trying to do and see what they recomend?

Why don't you just take your old radiator to a good shop and have it reconditioned with a new 4-row core. That radiator would then cool any engine that you would be likely to install in your car(provided that the rest of your cooling system is in good condition) and will fit like--well, like it was made for your car.

My $0.02

I think to get an aluminum rad the same size as original is going to be real expensive. You can get one that will cool good but it won't be the same size. You might want to look into doing what JJ'65 suggested or price a new 4 core. ~$200 at Autozone. That's assuming you want to stick with a stock fit.

I really want to go aluminum, I can get a really good deal on these Griffins! I found the same one but its 31" long, same price. Going to swap it for this one and I should be good to go. Im going to add a B&M Tranny cooler also.
