Just got my heater core today from NPD. Its a little thinner than the one that was in there. But what bothers me is that the lower outlet is angled, where the originals' had both outlets sticking out straight. I looked at the box and it did say 68-72 w/o A/C.

What gives?

Is it being thinnner going to be a problem also?

My 69 (w/o A/C) had no heater core when I bought it, so I can't coment on how thick the old one was. However, the brand new core I purchased has the angled lower pipe you are referring to. It was a little tricky to get the core to slip in properly, but really no big deal at all.

My heater core (69 chevelle SS 396 w/o air) is thick and does have the angled pipe on the bottom. The one that I just saw at the last car show (south of Buffalo, NY), which had air, has two straight pipes coming out. I don't know what they should have, this is all I can tell you.

buddy, should of acquired an old beat up core from some place and gone to a rad shop and they would of made one for you.
