Thanks to HotRodSRJ and his great advice. I have a 67 Chevelle with 383. I was thinking of going to aluminum radiator from PRC (which I did with another Chevelle). But, the brass radiator was new. So, I went with a fan shroud, a heavy duty DeRale Flex Fan, High Flow water pump, and 180 degree altered thermostat.

Before upgrades, the temp was creeping up at 210 to 220 at idle. Now, these upgrades appear to be keeping the temps at around 180 to 185. That DeRale Flex Fan is a great upgrade along with the Tuff Stuff Hi Flow water pump.

Thanks HotRod for your advice in the past and present.

I agree Ken, Steve offers some great insight to the dreaded overheating issues we face with these older cars. If you go back and read his replies to various posts they are all no nonsense, back to the basics, practical applications that are tried and true. No smoke and mirrors or magic in a bottle. ;)

Steve..... this Bud's for you graemlins/beers.gif
