I've got my rad on the bench need to straighten up some fins. Can any one tell me if there is a tool? like maybe a brush or somthing to get all the fins straight before it gets painted. Thanks in advance for any ideas on this. Ralph.

Ralph,

I bought a tool just for this awhile back at Harbor Freight. I can email a picture of it if you want. It is a bit difficult to describe but it looks like a handle with a disk on the end. The disk has several fins at different pitches made of plastic. You find the correct pitch and slide it along the fins to straighten them. Haven't tried using it yet.

The Eastwood has a metal tool, looks like a small needlenose, but the tips are flat and wide. Works verwell for straighting the fins.

You can get a Fin Comb from your local HVAC wholesale supply house

Look for Johnstone supply in the phone book
