I'm looking at buying some elec fans to mount on my radiator and was wondering if the plastic things that go through the radiator are worth the risk? I can see how they might damage some of the fins and cause a leak or are they designed or soft enough to not be a problem after a lot of use. thanks

I would try and avoid through the radiator straps. I have to replace my current aluminum radiator because I used them. Besides that, you have to buy new ones every time you take the fan off.
