My 70 has no pressure on high side, 50lbs on low, do you think a poa from a junkyard car is worth the trouble trying , or should I go a different route. The donor car has been sitting for years but the system is sealed. One is not sealed. Or should I roll the dice? Thanx.

I would hunt high and low for a new POA only because I hate doing things more than once.
Old Air Products catalog shows a new POA valve, $135 when available. They also have the POA update valve for $80, but I wouldn't recommend it unless it was a matter of having A/C or not.

Dang, I just installed an Old Air POA update kit on my 67. Haven't finished the plumbing yet so I don't know how it will work. You say you don't recommend them.......care toi elaborate on why? I'd appreciate knowing.
Thanks,
PowPaw

Well, the clutch cycling switch on mine has a 15 PSI differential between the cut-in and cut-out pressures making the vent temps cycle between 40 and 50 degrees. The cut-out setpoint is adjustable by a screw between the switch connection blades but there is no adjustment for the differential. On the lowest fan speeds the clutch will cycle even if the cabin isn't cool yet. With the POA on this system it would hit 36 degrees steady all day long.
I consider an update to make something better.

I will second that response from Doc J. It stinks sitting in traffic and heat and having that thing contiuously cycle.I will eventually get another original POA.I need to find a condenser if anyone knows where to find one.

Blaster, did your system have brown particles coming out? If so it might not be rust, it could be your desicant bag broke, although the particles should be trapped in the txv, evap and POA. A/C system are made with brass and aluminum. Have you tried flushing you condenser really good?
