HI Fellas,
Just wondering what type of caulking is used to seal the heater core box (the one that attaches to the firefall). I assume some sort of heat resistance has to be used. What about the Gold coloured gasket sealer?
Thanks in advance,

MonteMan,
There is a specific seal kit that is available. Just for example purposes, Year One sells a heater & AC box seal set. I looked at the Chevelle set, which I recently purchased. It should be very close to the Monte's. Bottom line, they are available, you just need to dig a little.
Good Luck,

I went to the local RV store and bought a roll or black sticky tape (the stuff they use to seal roof vents etc) and used that. Works great. Also good for plugging holes in the firewall.

Thanks*guys,
I phoned a rad shop and they recommended something called butil(spelling?). You can get it at a glass shop. It seems like as long as the seal is flexible it is alright. I went with gasket sealer which was recommended as well. The butil is about $25.per tube while the gasket sealer is $5.00.
On a bad note I was using a screwdriver to push the brand new core into the case and punctured the core. I hope the POR putty works as well as they say.
