I just ordered a complete heat and a/c unit for the '67.

I promised my kids that next years trip to CB will be in air conditioned comfort.

I did some research and found this guy in FLA.

I spoke to him on the phone and everything sounds good.

I'll post a review when I get it in.

Came in last friday, Looks to be a well made kit w/ all parts included.

I loosely mounted up the compressor, the brackets are great and it fit right in.

Next step, try to shoehorn in the condenser with my big tranny cooler in the way.

Rob, I removed the cooler to install the condenser, then reinstalled the cooler using 2" pieces of tubing to space the cooler away from the condenser. Both have worked well for the last 3 years.

Rob-
Tried the link but it doesn't work... Is this the same outfit that sells complete kits similar to the VintageAir kits?

I also have a 67 in need of air parts. Were you pleased with your components and instructions? How well did the installation go?

Thanks, Rob. I've been planning to order an evaporator/heater combo to get me through the fall and winter months and adding the compressor, condensor, etc. in the spring if funds allow.

This looks like a good company with good prices. For comparison purposes, Classic Auto Air (also in Florida) wants nearly $400 for an evaporator/heater.

I'll definitely be in touch with these guys.

Patrick,
They sell complete kits, simmilar to vintage air, but less expensive. They can also get Vinatge air systems.

Tuck,
The components look good, I am happy with cost vs. quality aspect. Have not installed yet, but instructions appear to be clear. You can download the instructions on the wbsite for a preview.

Chad,
I dealt with the owner, Jon. He was informative and a pleasure to deal with. Excellent support.

Ed,
My final price was 715 including shipping to NY. There is a control "pod". I believe it mounts under dash for fan control. I think you would have to use your original slider for the hot/cold. I'll look at it again and post a pic. They might have stuff available to replace the OE controlls, call to ckeck.

Rob,

Is it a Sure Fit kit or a universal kit that you received?

I checked out the nostalgic air website - didn't see any kits specifically for the Chevelle. Did you order universal components? In dash or under dash? I'll be most interested in your selections if it all fits well. Please keep us posted! Thanks

The kit that I ordered is a in dash or behind dash kit. It is not a universal. He made up the kit as per what I wanted, for the vehicle and engine combo that I have.

I'll keep you all posted on the installation with reviews and pics.

I just got a reply from Jon via email. I'm gonna talk to him on the phone tomorrow. This definitely sounds like the way to go.
