I am ready to buy a radiator for my car. I am goin to a local place to see if they have what i need or get a custom built one. Im goin to Hawthorne Radiators in NJ let me know if you have any experience with them? ok I have a 65 chevelle. Right now it has a mild 350 in it, it will then step up to a 402 on juice, Then the finally will be a 454. I would like to buy an aluminum 4 core radiator that will be able to keep the 454 cool even in traffic.
P.S. I will be running a mecanical fan with a shroud and dual electeric fans for those days in traffic.

Aluminum radiators do not come in four row. A two row aluminum with large tubes, 1.25" or better for your 454, will suffice. Griffin makes these....get your wallet out.
Also, a more reasonable radiator is a 1" two row custom made crossflow. This would do the job for everything if you are going to run extra electric high output fans. Go to www.streetrodstuff.com/Products/157 (http://www.streetrodstuff.com/Products/157) for more information on a great bargin for PRC radiators. A great buy, great quality, and good people to work with.

i think i'd just run 1 mark VIII electric fan instead of 3 fans, it will do the job. i'd suggest the windstar fans but they don't fit your car...

Thanks a ton guys. So do you think a 2 row crossflow with 1in tubes would be sufficent for the 454 in traffic or should i go even bigger than 1 in?
Also i am goin to get a built in trans cooler run the lines through that and then from there into a seperate trans cooler than back to the trans. What is a good trans cooler brand?

If you have air go to the 1.25" tubes.
As long as you are going to use a high performance electric air mover with high performance water pump, the 1" crossflow will suffice for 95% of the situations. The other 5% may run off the thermostat on 95+ degree days, but not go over the 210 range which is NOT a big deal.
If you want assurance, do the 1.25" tubes, they are expensive tho compared to the 1". Absolutely no plastic tanks or epoxy...just pure aluminum radiators.
