I have factory air conditioning in my car and the guy I bought it from spent $1300 on fixing it back up mabey a few years ago. Well when the blower is on it leaks pretty bad from the a/c box in the engine compartment. Does anyone know a reputable place in the midwest that would redo it?

If you are talking about the blower motor flange that is leaking air go to your autoparts store and get some "dum dum" (black tarry stuff) and roll a bead around the flange. It will seal perfectly. For that matter if it is the case itself the stuff will seal that too. It will stick to whatever you put it on and lasts for years.

I just completed going through the heater/air boxes inside and out and evaporator box on my '66. There are many seals within the various units and all are suspect for leaks. Mine had so many issues I can't imagine how any air was making it to the vents. The seal kit was only $25-$30 and contained all of the seals for the outside ducting, blower motor, evaporator box, inside box and all flappers and deverters. I had the motor out of the car so is was MUCH easier to get at things. I am not real familiar with the details of a '71 but I suspect if you remove the passenger fender skirt it will greatly aid in the access to the various parts. Good luck.
